The sea squirt Ciona intestinalis

Sea squirts are small animals which suck water into their body, sieve it to remove tiny particles of food, and then pump the water out again.  They can be found under the sea on almost any hard surface and often occur in large numbers, so they are very likely to be found on the turbines or rocks surrounding the base.
