This little shrimp-like creature builds tubes onto seaweed,rocks or other hard surfaces.  It often builds tubes on the bottoms of boats which slows them down and is called fouling.  They usually eat by catching tiny bits of food from the water, but some big amphipods feed on other smaller amphipods.
