Shredded carrot sponge

It may look like a strange plant but this is actually an animal which attaches to hard surfaces underwater and filters the water to take out tiny food particles.  This reddish-orange sponge can grow in many different forms.  It can be thin and flat, branched or cushion shaped, and can change shape in a few weeks!
