What is COWRIE?

COWRIE stands for Collaborative Offshore Windfarm research into the Environment. It is an independent company set up to raise awareness and understanding of the potential environmental impacts of the UK offshore windfarm programme.

COWRIE Ltd is governed by a Board of Directors drawn from The Crown Estate, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the British Wind Energy Association (BWEA). It is chaired by an independent member.
