Consultation: Guidance for the assessment of cumulative impact on the historic environment from offshore renewable energy (15 June 2007)
COWRIE is pleased to announce the release of the above document prepared by Oxford Archaeology. This generic guidance was developed through a desk-based review of how cumulative impact has been addressed in Environmental Statements to date and also with reference to other guidance that addresses cumulative impact.
The report is now available for review. The archaeological society, consultants, universities, windfarm developers and members of the COWRIE Environment Technical Working Group are hereby invited to assess the proposed guidance. Your opinions are sought on whether the proposed document will effectively qualify how cumulative impact from offshore renewable energy developments may have a detrimental effect on the historic environment, and whether the document managed to determine how cumulative impact assessment can be applied to aid the development of best practice for the offshore renewable energy industry.
We would be most grateful for your feedback and the deadline for comments is Monday 30th July 2007.
